Kings Island is one of our favorite places to visit during the summer. It has some of our favorite roller coasters, like Orion, and of course, that iconic blue ice cream. In the fall, Kings Island is transformed into a fall and Halloween-themed wonderland for Halloween Haunt and the Tricks and Treats Fall Fest.

Keep reading to learn more about Halloween Haunt at Kings Island, including what to expect this year, the Tricks and Treats Fall Fest, and where to get tickets.

What is Kings Island Halloween Haunt?

Halloween Haunt is an annual event held at Kings Island Amusement Park in the fall. The special event takes place from late September through late October. While Kings Island has yet to announce all of the details of this year’s event, it’s sure to be a good time, especially considering it was voted as the “Best Theme Park Halloween Event” by USA Today readers in 2022

King Island transforms into a haunted wonderland for the month. Halloween Haunt features include:

  • Indoor scare mazes
  • Outdoor scare zones
  • Spooky live entertainment
  • Lurking monsters and creatures
  • Exclusive Halloween-themed culinary offerings

According to Kings Island, Halloween Haunt is intended for mature audiences and is not recommended for children under 13.

If you’re wondering whether rides and attractions are open during the Halloween Haunt, have no fear (pun intended). Many of the attractions we all know and love are still operating during the special event. Outside of the park’s water rides and other select attractions, you’ll get to enjoy all of the fun of a normal day at Kings Island.

What is Kings Island Tricks and Treats Fall Fest?

Kings Island can be a scary place during Halloween Haunt, but it also offers a unique event during the fall season for families. Tricks and Treats Fall Fest is a family-friendly event with something for everyone in the family.

The event features fall crafts and activities, games, live entertainment and music, trick-or-treating, and fall and Halloween-themed food. There are also select craft beers available during the event for parents and adults.

Please note that Planet Snoopy is closed on Fridays and closes at 7 PM on Saturdays and Sundays during Halloween Haunt.

Kings Island Tricks and Treats Fall Festival Dates and Hours

Tricks and Treats Fall Festival runs from September 24, 2023 to October 29, 2023 from 11 AM to 6 PM.

Kings Island Halloween Haunt Tickets

Halloween Haunt Tickets are available online through Kings Island’s website. Ticket costs for Halloween Haunt vary depending on the day you visit. Halloween Haunt admission ranges from $44.99 to $79.99 per person (plus tax). Halloween Haunt Bundles are also available for select dates throughout the event and include admission, parking, and all-day dining. Halloween Haunt Bundles range from $74.99 to $104.99 per person (plus tax).

Please note that there is no re-entry allowed if you leave Kings Island after 6 PM during Halloween Haunt.

Halloween Haunt Fright Lane Passes

Halloween Haunt Fright Lane passes are also available, ranging from $60 to $80 per person (plus tax), which give you shorter wait times for the following Haunt attractions:

  • Cornered
  • Hotel St. Michelle
  • Alien Abyss
  • KillMart
  • Madame Fatale’s Cavern of Horror
  • Slaughter House

Fright Lane passes are good for one time at each haunted maze, plus one bonus maze to revisit.

No Boo Necklace

Halloween Haunt offers tons of fun but can be scary or overwhelming for younger park guests. To avoid interactions with monsters in scare zones, you can purchase a No Boo Necklace. As long as guests wear the necklace while walking through outdoor scare zones, they’ll experience fewer interactions. No Boo Necklaces are not valid inside mazes.

No Boo Necklaces are available for redemption beginning September 22nd and cost $15.99 per person (plus tax)

Halloween Haunt Chaperone And Bag Policy

Kings Island implemented a chaperone policy this season. The policy and Kings Island’s Code of Conduct will be enforced during the special event. The park is also implementing a bag policy during Halloween Haunt. Check Kings Island park policies before attending Halloween Haunt this season.

Get Access to Halloween Haunt with a Kings Island Season Pass

You can score unlimited Halloweekends access for free by purchasing a Kings Island season pass. Cedar Fair has simplified season pass offerings at many of its parks for the 2024 season, including Kings Island. There are now two season pass options — the Gold Pass and the Prestige Pass. Pricing and pass benefits vary between the two passes.

Something new from Cedar Fair is the All Park Passport. Instead of selling additional season pass types, which was confusing, Kings Island offers the All Park Passport, which is an add-on feature you can purchase with your Gold or Prestige Pass. By adding the All Park Passport to your season pass, you can attend all parks in the Cedar Fair family, not just Kings Island. The addition of the All Park Passport eliminates the Platinum Pass, which it previously offered.

Kings Island Amusement Park

Kings Island is an amusement park located in Mason, Ohio. It’s part of the Cedar Fair family, along with Cedar Point and several other amusement parks across North America. Kings Island offers more than 100 rides, shows, and attractions. It’s also home to Soak City Water Park, a 33-acre water park. Kings Island recently announced updates for the 2024 season, including a new roller coaster in Camp Snoopy, one of the family-friendly areas in the park.
